About Vani
Author, world-builder, and the reason any of this exists
Vani has published a book and written an entire animated series — and she is still in primary school. Most people take a little longer to get started.
She is the kind of explorer who cannot walk past a door without wondering what is on the other side of it — and if there isn’t a door, she will draw one. Ideas arrive in her at full speed and fully furnished: not just a character, but the creature bonded to that character, the emblem on their wing, the rule that makes the emblem glow, and the reason it stops glowing when someone breaks a promise. She builds worlds the way other people build sandcastles — quickly, joyfully, and with far more structure than you’d expect from the outside.
Every world in the Vaniverse started as something Vani said out loud, usually somewhere inconvenient, usually right before bedtime.
Her first book, Penguinas, is a royal-penguin adventure — published, in print, and available to anyone who wants it. Since then she has written WingFlare Academy, a sky-fantasy series about eight girls, eight bonded creatures, and a magic that only works when you actually trust someone. There are more series written and waiting. This website is built so they have somewhere to land.
What ties them together isn’t the magic — it’s that in Vani’s stories the magic always has a condition. Wings light up for a reason. Bonds have to be earned. Friendship is not a nice ending; it is the mechanism. That is a surprisingly grown-up idea to keep turning up in a young writer’s notebooks, and it is why these worlds hold together.
